Hurricane Preparedness

The safest place for a pet during a winter storm is with his owner, so plan ahead of the hurricane season and make arrangements to evacuate to a pet-friendly American Red Cross shelter, to a pet-friendly hotel, to a friend’s home or to a family outside the area. Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League will be designating their limited housing for the neediest pet owners in the community. Those who must evacuate to medical facilities or others who have extenuating circumstances that do not permit them to evacuate with their pets and do not have the financial resources for commercial boarding will be identified. In these cases, they will coordinate with other local agencies to provide these pets with shelter during an evacuation.
