MICROCHIPS
A microchip is a tiny implant the size of about 2 rice grains (1 cm) which is simply injected under the skin between the shoulder blades. Within the microchip is encoded a number which is given to only your pet. The number is registered with the microchip company (we use Home Again microchips at All Paws), so if your pet is lost and the number is scanned (all veterinarians and humane societies/Animal Care and Control have scanners), we simply call the 1-800 number and retrieve your address and phone number. Then you are reunited with your loved one!
The Home Again microchip company also offers benefits such as Lost Pet Medical Insurance. This is a great opportunity to help give your pet the best protection: up to $3,000, less a $50 deductible. This policy will cover any medical bills for any injuries your pet suffers while lost, upon proof of lost pet incident. Home Again also has a Proactive Pet Recovery Network, Lost Pet Alert and 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance. Visit their website at homeagain.com.
